Research Matchmaking Workshop November 2019

last modified Oct 18, 2019 10:35 AM
Are you a Cambridge researcher who'd like to get together with researchers from other backgrounds to identify interdisciplinary research opportunities around emerging technologies and society? The Trust & Technology Initiative is organising a ‘matchmaking’ workshop in November, bringing together researchers from across disciplines to develop research ideas within our broad theme of trust and technology.

Participants will be divided into small groups which will be hand-picked so as to ensure a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. Each group will have 45 minutes to draft an abstract on a given topic. After the 45 minutes is up, the groups will briefly present their abstract for feedback from the other participants. There will then be a short break for tea and coffee. In the second half of the workshop, the groups will be rearranged and will again have 45 minutes to draft an abstract on a different topic. The workshop will conclude with presentations and feedback.

Registration is essential as spaces at the workshop will be strictly limited.

About us

The Trust & Technology Initiative brings together and drives forward interdisciplinary research from Cambridge and beyond to explore the dynamics of trust and distrust in relation to internet technologies, society and power; to better inform trustworthy design and governance of next generation tech at the research and development stage; and to promote informed, critical, and engaging voices supporting individuals, communities and institutions in light of technology’s increasing pervasiveness in societies.
