I’ve been working on the economics of technology since the 1990s in various domains. Currently my research includes measurement of the digital economy and competition in digital markets. I’m a member of the Government’s Digital Competition Expert Panel, which has the remit to explore whether competition policy needs updating & reports in Spring 2019. I’m also a DeepMind Ethics and Society Fellow, a role (unpaid) providing this part of DeepMind with external challenge to their research.
